Who is Mrs. Wong?
“Happy and busy” are words that people usually use to describe me. I think that I’m usually “happy” because I love my job! I started my teaching career in 1986 in Honolulu, Hawaii where I was raised. I graduated at the University of Hawaii where I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. I moved to California where I taught at a private school and then at a public school in San Jose. I knew that I must be getting older because I “wanted” to go back to school to learn more! I obtained a Learning Handicapped Credential and a Masters Degree in Special Education.
This is my 17th year teaching for the Cupertino Union School District as it has become a part of my family. I have 3 children and since I wasn’t able to have a dozen children, I adopted a teacup Maltese named Emi. She’s only 6 pounds, and she is usually carried around the house all day. I have also been married to a wonderful husband for over 33 years.
When I’m not teaching, some of my hobbies include: teaching Sunday School which I’ve done for over 40 years, and organizing parties for the children at the San Jose homeless shelter. As you can see, my life seems to revolve around being with children. Most of all, I feel extremely blessed that I am actually getting paid for something that I would do for free.
