Practice writing complete answers: Restate the question, answer all parts of the question, cite evidence, explain evidence to support answer, and sum it up with a summary sentence
Reader's Workshop: fiction and informational texts
Reading to glean information from nonfiction texts including science and social studies.
Students will be taught how to keep track of their thinking and practice different reading comprehension strategies using reader’s notebooks. Students will learn to analyze a text based on genre, story elements, and text supports such as headings or sidebars.
