District 200 5th grade beginning band is one of the best experiences you will have as an elementary school student. Performing in the band can be a lifelong experience, with many fun opportunities along the way! We have started thousands of students over the years on a band instrument and many of the students are still playing now, whether it's in a school band or professionally. Band is a social activity where lifelong friends will be made. Don't you want to be part of the band?!

Instrument Selection Students will try up to 3 instruments and a final selection will be made with the assistance of your director. This will take place within the first couple weeks of school. Our goal for each student is to match each student with an instrument on which they will be successful! Our goal for the entire group is to develop balanced instrumentation.
