Our definition of success is based on how each individual and the team as a whole improves from the beginning of the season until the end. However, basketball is a competitive sport and we will make every effort to compete in each game.
Everybody plays (subject to school and team rules). However, playing time may not be equal and players may not play in every game. This is especially true during tournament play. There is a tournament to determine a winner and playing time may not be equal.
If your child is not playing often or is not playing at all, it can usually be attributed to a specific reason:
Unexcused absences from or late to practice (specifically morning practice). If a player is going to miss, needs to leave early from, or will be late to practice, we would like a written note or email from the parent/guardian. If he is sick from school, the note is not necessary.
Poor attitude or lack of effort at practice.
We will talk to the player if his playing time is going to be impacted. If you notice a lack of playing time, please talk to your child first.
