Mr. Nathan Wheeler, director of bands

Mr. Wheeler began his first year as director of bands at Clinton schools in the fall of 2014.  Prior to that, he was the band director at Sangamon Valley Schools since 2000.  He earned his degree in music education from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign.  Mr. Wheeler is a 1995 graduate of Clinton Community High School where he was a drum major and a member of the band.  His main instruments are saxophone, clarinet, bass clarinet, and bass guitar but he enjoys playing all the instruments.  In his free time, he likes to compose his own music.

Ms. Alison Richards, associate director

Ms. Richards began her first year as associate director of bands at Clinton schools in 2026.  Prior to that, she student taught at Clinton in the Spring of 2026.  She earned her degree in music education from Illinois State University in Normal where she was a section leader in the Big Red Marching Machine.  Ms. Richards main instrument is euphonium but she also excels at piano.  In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her two cats.
