Course Description

Algebra 2 is the second course in the algebra series. This course is designed to present the foundational knowledge necessary for success in future mathematics and science classes. Some course topics include basic skills in solving equations, solving inequalities, problem solving, functions, factoring and multiplying polynomials, rational and irrational numbers, imaginary and complex numbers, matrices, systems of equations, and logarithms. Probability, statistics, sequences, and series are covered as time permits. To be successful in this course, students generally need to have attained a grade of C or better in Algebra 1. Prerequisite: Passing grade in Modern Geometry or Equivalent
