Students invited to participate in EXPLORE DESIGN / PORTFOLIO
Calling all future designers, builders, artists, and makers! Learn to showcase the work you are passionate about in a professional portfolio format that’s ready for college and career applications.
DownCity Design and DESIGNxRI want to help you share your work with confidence, explore design careers, and get real-world advice from working professionals.
In EXPLORE DESIGN / PORTFOLIO, you’ll take high-quality photographs of your finished projects, designs, and drawings, and learn to use Adobe Creative Suite to design captivating layouts to display your work. In developing your portfolio, you’ll learn to tell your personal story and express your passion for the things you make and do.
EXPLORE DESIGN / PORTFOLIO offers a real-world experience that will help you learn the tools you need to put your best work forward. Visits with working designers and admissions officers from local college design programs will help you explore the many creative career paths available in the world of design and show you how to make your work stand out as you get ready for college or careers.
This program is FREE and open to all Rhode Island Youth ages 14 to 18. No previous design or software skills are necessary. The program will teach you all you need to know!
This program will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from October 4 - December 13, 2017, from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. each session. All sessions will be held at The MET School Equality Building, 325 Public Street, Providence, RI.
