My main areas of interest are metaphysics and anything that has a metaphysical angle to it.

I try to engage contemporary philosophy by drawing on the resources of the whole philosophical tradition. It's not my fault that Aquinas is more useful to me than anyone else.

I have recently published a book with Cambridge University Press entitled Aquinas on the Metaphysics of the Hypostatic Union.

My next book project is a development of what I'll probably end up calling a "substance-centered metaphysics."

I am working on a few papers in ethics--some in normative ethics (on brain death) and some in metaethics (on the nature of human flourishing).

I have plans to hunt that great white whale intention.
