Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino is observed every last week of July by virtue of Proclamation No. 933, s. 2014 signed by President Benigno S. Aquino III.
It shall conserve, promote and popularize the nation’s historical and cultural heritage and resources, as well as artistic creations. All radio stations are encouraged to broadcast a minimum of four (4) original Pilipino music in every clock hour of a program with a musical format during the celebration. Also, to achieve a long-term goal of reviving original Pilipino music and that the Filipino audience has awareness and appreciation of homegrown music.

As we celebrate Apolinario Mabini's 158th birthday, here are some facts:
1. Apolinario Mabini is born to Inocencio Leon Mabini and Dionisia Maranan in Barrio Talaga, Tanauan, Batangas on July 23, 1864.
2. In 1881, Mabini earned his ‘Bachiller en Artes’ and official recognition as a Professor of Latin at the Colegio de San Juan de Letran Manila, and in 1894 earned his law degree at the University of Santo Tomas.
3. He was the First Prime Minister and Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines upon the establishment of the First Philippine Republic and also the Legal adviser to the Philippine President Emilio Aguinaldo.
4. He wrote the El Verdadero Decalogo, or “The True Decalogue” in May 1898.
5. Mabini died on May 13, 1903 at the age of 38 due to Cholera.
