The government faces increased number of complex projects using a adapting an effective planning strategy is important to enhance their performance. As the project’s risk levels rises, project planning must also be enhanced to ensure that the probability of success increases, this is highly applicable in the private sector. The public sector on the other hand should follow formal planning procedures in high-risk projects but keep to a flexible planning strategy in low-risk situations. It is highly suggested that governments use a planning strategy that is appropriate to the risk levels of their projects.
