Professional Development

Two things vitally important to implementing a sustainable technology project:

1. Have a plan for how you are going to integrate the technology to positively impact student learning and achievement

2. Provide meaningful professional development in the use, management, and classroom integration of the technology.

“One of my favorite aspects of the flipped classroom program is the chance to learn from exceptional peers and coaches. I love our monthly PLCs because I know I will always walk away with valuable information.” ~5th Grade Teacher

Project iAchieve has focused on both of these as the district moves forward in increasing access to technology. Before any teacher - or student - gets technology into their hands, they must attend professional development - and not just okay here's your equipment now go and use it. Meaningful professional development based upon the specific needs of their job assignment and follow up training either through "refresher" courses or effective ongoing job embedded professional development through training, mentoring, and coaching.

“I thought our PLC meetings and individual coaching sessions were excellent this year. I loved learning about new ways to incorporate the iPads into aspects of teaching.” ~5th Grade Teacher
