Program:
The "Employee Safety Recognition" Award Program encourages recognition and support for employee actions that help to highlight safety in the schools, and strive for continual improvement of the occupational health and safety program for the district. This program represents an ongoing effort to make safe operations an integral part of the district’s operating philosophy.

Recognition Awards:
November, 2017 - Margaret Fredericks, Facilities/ Building Engineer @ Saylor Park - Recognized for efforts in minimizing hazards at the schools, (Nov 2017 Safety Newsletter); testing the emergency eyewash stations at her school. Note the documentation! – As the saying goes, "if it is not documented, it is not done!”
September, 2017 - Robert Moore Jr, Facilities/ Maintenance & Custodian - Recognized for efforts in minimizing hazards at the schools (September 2017 Safety Newsletter); promptly signed a potential spill area and then promptly picked up the spill. Signing the area first is key!
May, 2014 - Katherine Kinney @ Cheviot - Recognized for responding swiftly and performing the Heimlich Maneuver in a choking situation in the lunchroom.
February, 2014 - Juanita Brown @ Pleasant Hill- Recognized for her efforts in controlling spills in the lunchroom and minimizing slips, trips and falls.
September, 2013 - Comachitta Martin & Jamie Mitchell @ Evanston Academy - Recognized for their efforts in controlling the car traffic daily at Evanston.
August, 2013 - Kelly J. Rozelle, M. Ed., @ Shroder - Recognized her commitment to the safety of students, staff and visitors while AP at Shroder.
June, 2013 - Ron Van Kalker, @ Clark Montessori HS - Recognized for vigilance and awareness on safety which helped to kept students safe from potential injury.
May, 2013 - Ms. Alexis Thomer/Teacher @ Carson Schools - Recognized for responding swiftly to a choking situation in her classroom.
April, 2013 - Crystal Steward/Custodian @ Midway School - Recognized for her innovation and diligence in minimizing accidents at her school.
March, 2013 - Mr. Craig Edmonson/Building Engineer @ Hughes HS - Recognized for his leadership in implementing safety through grounds/custodial team.
December, 2012 Tony Toll/PO @ Aiken - Promotes Workplace Hearing Protection (see "Fact Sheet")
