Teaching

My teaching is based around three principles: building an inclusive environment, frequent assessment, and experiential learning. These provide the platform for all students to participate, to take ownership of their learning and to acquire a deeper understanding of the material.

I have taught a variety of courses at the undergraduate and Phd levels.

Undergraduate level:

    • Principles of Macroeconomics

    • Intermediate Microeconomics

    • Economic Development (upper-level seminar and lower-level elective)

Gradaute level:

    • PhD sequence in Development Economics (two semester sequence and standalone course)

My pursuit of excellence in teaching is reflected by my nomination for the 2017 Outstanding Undergraduate Teacher of the Year. Similarly, at the graduate level, I chaired the second highest number of dissertation committees during my time at Clark University.

Beyond the classroom, I enjoy working one on one with students at different levels including capstone and honors projects for undergraduates and dissertations for graduate students.
