We have four main rules in PE class that the students must follow at all times:
1. Stop when the whistle blows
Students must freeze, become silent, and stop whatever we are doing when they hear the sound of my whistle. This is so they can listen for directions clearly and easily. If a student is repetitively unable to do this I will ask to them to not participate in gym that day.
2. Listen
This goes along with rule number 1, students are expected to listen whenever the teacher is speaking. Interrupting may also be an issue. I will remind students to listen without interruption and raise their hand if they need to speak or have a question. Again if a student is unable to do this after being reminded they will not participate in gym that day.
3. Wear proper shoes
Students are asked to wear shoes that tie or Velcro and are snug on their feet. Students who forget their shoes three times will be given a sheet of paper to take home to remind them when their gym day is. Students must get this sheet signed by their guardian to be able to return and participate in gym class.
4. Have fun!
We are always looking to have a good time in gym class while following the rules!
Equipment: Gym equipment is very expensive so it is very important that students treat it with respect. I ask students to use equipment how I show them and if they do not know how, to please ask me. If I catch a student vandalizing any equipment I will ask them to not participate in gym class until I feel they have learned what it means to respect the equipment.
Doctors/Parent notes:
Students must have a doctors note to sit out during gym class.
I will accept ONE parent note from a student, after that they must have a doctors note or they will not be able to sit out.
