Mrs. Ballengee

I was born and raised in the Cleveland, Ohio area (and YES, I am still a die-hard Browns fan). In 1982 I officially relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico, but spent the next 8 years traveling extensively around the United States and some foreign countries (my husband was a professional bowler). During this time we also became business owners when we purchased a 32-lane bowling center.

After having our 2 daughters, (Amanda and Amy) and some major family changes, I returned to school (University of New Mexico) and earned my Elementary licensure and MA in Elementary Education. (I also have a BS in Health, Physical Education and Recreation from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania.) I spent 2 years teaching a 1st-6th grade classroom, and then the next 9 years in a 5th grade classroom.

In 2007, we relocated to Denver when my husband's company transferred him to their main headquarters. We love Colorado and all it has to offer. If you can't find us on a Saturday we are probably in Estes Park enjoying our favorite small town and the Stanley Hotel!

In May 2009, my husband, Dwayne, and I became the proud Nana and Papa of our beautiful granddaughter Ashlynn. She is now just over 10 years old and is keeping our family on our toes, busy, and smiling! Ashlynn begins 5th grade this year at Lochbuie Elementary as their family recently moved to the country! We will miss her doing her cartwheels around the halls of CAC!

In early October, 2016 we welcomed our 2nd grandchild, Owen, and we are loving every minute we get to spend watching him and his big sister find ways to get into "trouble"!

This is my 12th year teaching 6th grade at Collegiate Academy, and I am looking forward to working with your kids this year as they get ready for the transition to Middle School.
