If your local library network does not have the resource you need, you can look it up on the Commonwealth Catalog (commonwealthcatalog.org). This links all of the Massachusetts public library networks, and allows a library from any given Massachusetts network to request an item from another Massachusetts network. This includes any library affiliated with a Massachusetts public college or university.
Keep in mind, in order to use the Commonwealth Catalog, your library network must not carry the item, and you must order the item through your own local library. For example, if I, as a Boston resident, want an item from the Minuteman library network, I need to make sure that it is not available at any library in the Metro Boston Library Network, and I must order it through the Boston Public Library, not visit a library in the Minuteman network and try to take it out there.
