Some of our students have access to Bookshare. Bookshare is a government initiative that makes ebooks with read-aloud text and dyslexic-friendly features to the general public. Students must have an IEP or 504 plan designating a learning, physical, or visual disability that interferes with the individual's ability to read print. To find out if you or your child is eligible, email kfunderburk@codmanacademy.org or one of our special education staff.
If a student has a severe vision impairment (20/200 or worse), has a physical condition that makes holding a book difficult, or has a physical disability which prevents them from reading standard print, they may be eligible to access ebooks, audiobooks, Braille, and large-print books from the Perkins Library. To find out if you or your child is eligible, email kfunderburk@codmanacademy.org or one of our special education staff.
