Summary: As the leaves fall from the trees, the wind blows a bit harder, and the days turn shorter and shorter, we know that winter is on its way. The woodland animals begin to prepare for the cold weather in their own ways: the chipmunks get ready for a nice, cozy sleep; the geese fly south toward sunshine and blue skies; raccoons scurry for shelter. But they're (who? Just the raccoons?) in for a nice surprise when they realize that they have some "friends" nearby who leave some yummy food for them to eat. (from scholastic.com)
