CMS Grading Policies
Grade Categories
Prepare 20%
Homework, warm-ups, exit tickets, smaller checks for understanding
Rehearse 30%
Quizzes, labs, mini-assessments, mini-projects, classwork
Performance 50%
Unit assessments, common assessments, performance tasks, writing assignments, projects with rubrics, labs, speeches
Late Work Policy
5 points per day
Late assignments will be accepted until one week (5 school days) after the “Perform” date. Work submitted after this time will receive a 50% and will be given feedback .
Retest Policy
Performance assessments (not projects or writing assignments) can be retaken for up to an 80. Must be taken within three weeks of the original test.
Absences
Students are required to take missed assessments the first day they return from being out. Students who refuse to take assessment at the assigned make up time lose the opportunity to retest.
Students who miss more than 10 days of class must complete recovery or receive an F in class regardless of their grade.

Grading is final at the close of each grading period. Do not wait to discuss a questionable grade!

Tutoring is offered every Tuesday from 2:45 until 4:00 after school.
