Course Information
There are several ways to get involved with MPHS Theatre! Students may sign up for a class for either the standard/honors levels or IB. There are both performance and tech focused classes. To find out more about the material covered in our Theatre Arts courses, CLICK HERE
Upper Level Theatre Auditions
If you are a rising freshman or transferring from another school and have been through 2 years or more of theatre, you are eligible to audition for our Intermediate Theatre course, please complete the audition form HERE. Once they have complted the form, they will receive an email to schedule and audition time. Students interested in auditioning must have a 60 second monologue prepared and memorized. About Ms. Roberts:
This is my eleventh year with Myers Park and I am excited for the opportunities the new year will bring! I am from Lexington, South Carolina and moved to the Charlotte area after graduating from Winthrop University. Before coming to Myers Park, I worked with Children's Theatre of Charlotte for four years as a Teaching Artist and Stage Manager. While I don't expect all of my students to continue with theatre after their time at Myers Park, I do believe that everyone has something to gain from the theatre experience. The roots of theatre provide life skills for all participants: public speaking, problem solving, critical thinking, social awareness, collaboration, reflection...the list goes on. I encourage you to come to class with an open mind and positive attitude, you never know what new experiences you may gain with MPHS Theatre!
