No. Hopewell will order enough tests for each student in the 10th & 11th grade to take the PSAT. Students will receive their PSAT Guide in the first 10 days of school during homeroom. This guide will provide students with the information needed to prepare for the test, include practice tests.
The Pre-ACT is part of the ACT College-Career Readiness system adopted by the state of North Carolina. The Pre-ACT test is a diagnostic test that allows for students to see how well they would possibly do on the ACT, and to identify their strengths & weaknesses. The Pre-ACT is required for all 10th grade students, and is taken during the month of October. Teachers, counselors, and administrators use the PLAN results as one of many tools to determine which courses may be most appropriate for students. The Pre-ACT test scores can also be used by students in place of the Accuplacer, which is required to take courses at CPCC.
Unfortunately, no. North Carolina state law dictates that all final exams must be given in the last 5 days of a semester or the last 10 days for a year-long course, with no window for early or late testing. Because final exams account for 20% of a student's final grade in class, it is extremely important that students be in attendance on Exam days.
It is extremely important to save your test score reports in a safe place; you will need them when applying for scholarships and college. To receive another copy of your SAT or ACT scores, it is best to contact College Board or ACT directly. Due to college guidelines, Hopewell High School cannot send test scores to colleges or scholarship programs.
