All juniors will participate in the ACT on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.
All juniors are automatically registered for the exam.
Students who participate will create an ACT account, and will be able to use their ACT scores when applying for colleges in the future.
Students will be taking the ACT without writing.
What students need to know & bring on test day:
Students should bring their chromebook, a photo ID, a pencil, and a calculator.
Students will be taking the ACT online through a secure app on their chromebook. Chromebooks should be fully charged.
Calculators will NOT be provided to students. A calculator is built into the testing application. Students may opt to bring a calculator with them
Students will receive an email from Ms. Elliott with their room assignment prior to Feb. 28. Students should check their school email for this room number.

Scores will be sent to students via their ACT accounts & the address they provide during the non-test-taking information. Score reports are NOT sent to the school for distribution to students.
Accommodations: Students will receive their accommodations for the ACT.
HOWEVER, if students DO NOT submit a consent form to have their accommodations approved by ACT by Jan. 18, their ACT scores will not be college-reportable.
If ACT DOES NOT approve the accommodations requested, and the student still opts to use them, he/she will not have college-reportable scores.
All ACT tests taken with approved accommodations are college-reportable.
Students with extended time accommodations will be responsible for transportation home -- their testing will extend beyond the early dismissal.
Students with read-aloud accommodation will test over multiple days.
Students are responsible for registering to take the ACT & SAT through the respective websites of each organization.
COST: $55.00 (Fee Waivers are available for students with free/reduced lunch. Provide your Ms. Junco with a copy of your Child Nutrition Letter to get the waiver information.)
**For students who have approved accommodations: Hopewell HS may not be able to administer School-Based testing during the May & June administrations due to AP Exams & Final Exams.**

Junior Administration of ACT: North Carolina requires all students to participate in the ACT through a free administration offered during the school day in February/March of their junior year. This is an official ACT, and students can use these scores for college admission. ACT mailed scores directly to the address that students listed on their answer sheet. To gain access to your scores online you must: (Students will be responsible for keeping up with their username & password -- Hopewell HS and its staff do NOT have access or ability to locate or reset this information. Students who lose their log-in information will either have to use the ACT website or contact ACT directly to gain access.)
Go to actstudent.org
Click on Create a New Account.
Click No when asked if you have ever registered for the ACT. Click YES, when asked if you have taken the ACT.
Follow the directions moving forward.
*Note: You will need your ACT ID # (located on the paper copy of your scores), to link your scores to your new account. Hopewell High School does not have the ability to do this for you!
