Google Apps for Education (GAFE)

Google Apps (most of these have free apps for tablets, IPhones, IPods, etc.)

Google Accounts:

Every student can access the Google Apps by going to the Google homepage and signing in to the site using student email address that has already been created by the district.

Go to Google.com
Click sign in.
Use full studentID#@ student.cms.k12.nc.us
- example: 123456789@student.cms.k12.nc.us
Password: YYYYMMDD

Google Drive:

This is a cloud service for document sharing and storage available that the district has already created accounts for students using the student email address listed above.
I will use this to share assignments and other class related documents with the students.
I will also set up a folder for each student with sharing settings already in place for all assignments and documents related to this class.
- Please note that all class notes, vocabulary and study guides will also be posted to Drive and on my website as well.
- Once set up, all documents within this folder are automatically shared. (No more uploading/downloading)

Google Calendar:

All assignments and upcoming dates will be posted on the calendar.
Each course has a widget already set up within this website.

Memrise:

www.memrise.com

This is a required site that will help for vocabulary and study guide review.
The courses on this site are made by me, so and include the main topics covered in class, that will help to make sure you're ready for the test.

This is an optional, free website that is great for vocabulary terms.
The site helps with auto-defining words and has great study tools like flashcards, games, and quizzes.

Prezi:

This is a free site for creating presentations that are much different that the typical PowerPoints.
