Classroom Rules
1) Follow all policies of the Hough High School Honor Code
2) Tardies – enforced via Hough policy (no exceptions)
3) Behavior – I give you one warning, after that, two or more disruptions will result in being dismissed from class and
you will be sent to ISS.
4) Absences – It is up to you to get missed notes and assignments the day you return to school! If you do not make up
the assignments/tests within FIVE days, the assignment will be late and the maximum possible score will be a 70%.
If you do not make up a test within five days, the test will fall under the retesting policy. This allows you to take the test
within 10 days with a maximum score of 79%.
5) Leaving Class – one person may leave at a time. You must sign out and back in when you return.
You will not be able to leave the first and last 15 minutes of class or while we are taking notes unless there is an emergency.
6) Cell Phones/Electronics – School policy is zero tolerance for cell phones out at any time.
Class Expectations
Be on time and prepared for class
This includes having all materials, including homework, and beginning the warm-up that is provided.
Be respectful
Being respectful does not only mean to the teacher in the room, it also means students should show respect to other
teachers, classmates, custodial staff, cafeteria staff, and any other person they should encounter during the day.
Be responsible
Being responsible means to be conscientious for personal and school property and for one's actions.
Students are also responsible for their own learning.
Be at the right place, at the right time, doing the right thing.
School Wide Grading Scale
Formal = 70% of your grade.
- Includes formal exams and large projects
Informal = 30% of your grade
- Includes classwork, quizzes, homework and other assignments.
Re-testing for AP Human Geography
Per William A. Hough High School Policy, AP tests with a score lower than 79% can be retaken:
Make-Up / Missing Work
The highest on any late work will be a 70%
All make-up work is due within a week of your return from being absent and will be accepted until the end of the quarter,
including exams.
BUT, if you turn in any assignments after that first week, it is considered late and
the maximum possible score will be a 70%.
If you miss a test, you must make arrangements to make up the test within 5 days of your return.
If you do not, the test will then fall under the re-test policy listed on this page with
a maximum possible score of a 79%.
If you were here the day something was due but did not turn it in, you can still turn it in until the end of the quarter,
but for a late grade.
