English 9AB

English 9 is a standards-based course that provides a foundation for the four-year language arts program at Buchanan HighSchool. It requires students to continue to apply and refine the skills learned in middle school. The areas of study continue tofocus on reading and comprehension of grade level works of literature. 

In addition, there is a new emphasis on reading informational materials applicable to research.  Writing instruction advancesstudents to more sophisticated levels of exposition and research. Standard English grammar, punctuation, and usage arereinforced.

In addition, policies implemented by the CUSD, Buchanan High School rules will also be enforced. (i.e. attendance, dress code, etc.)
