Word World from PBS Kids

Students play various games in which the letters make words in the shape of the item. In one activity they must listen to instrument sounds and identify the instrument. Then they must match the letters to the name of the instrument. The letters then form to create the shape of the instruments. Another activity is finding items in dog's house.

Theo's Puzzles

Students pick a letter and put together a puzzle presenting that letter. When the puzzle is complete, a video of that letter and words that start with that letter is shown.

A unique ABCs game where the letters transform into animals.

Oobi, the taking hand, hosts letter game which introduces and tests you on the letter sounds.

Construct a Word from Read, Write, Think

Students generate dozens of different words by first choosing an ending (for example -an, -ed, -at, -op) and then adding a beginning letter or blend. When a correct word is created, the word is stored in a Word Bank where students can read and review their words.

Word Family Sort from Read, Write, Think

Designed for beginning and struggling readers to help them recognize word patterns and learn about onset and rhyme. Students are first asked to select a vowel, and are then presented with a series of words to sort into short-vowel word families. Students can then print their completed word family chart and use it to practice reading the words fluently. Does not correct words placed in wrong family.
