I am Mr. Hurd!!!! I have been teaching in Clarkton Schools since 2011. I taught Elementary PE at Clarkston Elementary (plus a little travel to almost all the elementary schools in the district) from 2011-2021. I have been at SMS since 2022.

I am a graduate of Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and a Minor Degree in Health Education. I also hold two masters degrees. One in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Marygrove College. While the other degree is an Education Specialist with an emphasis in Administration from Arkansas State University.

I have coached a lot of sports in Clarkston and other districts and they range from tennis, to basketball, to cross country to name a few.

My favorite hobbies are traveling, being outdoors, playing and watching sports. I am a big Michigan fan (go blue). I love to golf (a lot)...and my wife Jessica and I both love to hike and camp. I have been all over the world from Australia, to Spain, and lots of places in between. Ask me and I have probably been there before. I LOVE life and I am a happy and energetic person almost all the time. It is who I am (it drives my wife crazy sometimes) but how could we not be excited about being at SMS everyday!
