READ-A-THON

Welcome to CET's brand new Read-a-thon, starting on March 7th and ending on March 21st! We're so excited to get students pumped up about reading and literacy during National Reading Month! Being a part of our Read-a-thon is easy:

1. Register your student here

2. Set a reading goal (this could be a number of minutes per day, per week or for the entire Read-a-thon)

3. Ask friends and family to donate to help you meet your goal (text, email, and share on social media)

4. Read, read, read and log your minutes!

5. Earn great rewards!

That's it! Proceeds from our Read-a-thon benefit the CET PTA, which provides funding for field trips, cultural assemblies, student performances, classroom materials, and more!

We hope the Read-a-thon ignites a love of reading in your child. They can read, you can read to them, you both can read your own books in the same room at the same time--it all counts! Have fun!

What rewards can I earn?

1. Send 10 texts through the Read-a-thon site: Your child's name on a school-wide poster

2. Post on Facebook via the Read-a-thon site: Your child's name on a school-wide poster

3. Read 300 minutes (20 min/day): Students who meet this goal will be entered into a raffle for lunch and an outdoor activity with Mr. Campanero (5 students will be selected)

4. Read 400+ minutes (30 min/day): The class with the most collective reading minutes will earn a class pizza party

5. Raise $150: Students who meet this goal will be entered into a raffle for lunch and a craft with Ms. Bianchi             (5 students will be selected)

6. Raise $250+: Earn your teacher's or a special's teacher's special reward! Click here for a list of teacher incentives and continue checking back as the list continues to grow!

7. Most overall reading minutes: The student with the highest number of minutes read will go on the loudspeaker to do the morning announcements!
