About the Program

Little Eagles preschool is designed for toilet-trained children ages three to five. Along with certified Family and Consumer Science teacher Jenny Harrington, high school students create well thought-out lessons that focus on learning and enjoyment. They work hard to foster a strong educational environment that is safe and student-centered.

Preschool runs Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from late September through mid December, then again in February through late May. Hours vary year to year.

On a typical day preschoolers are dropped off then have open play until our high school friends arrive. We then start with circle time where they go through attendance, calendar, weather, sing songs, read books, and recite the Pledge of Allegiance. We then rotate through stations where the high school students work with individuals and groups of preschoolers. Preschoolers receive a healthy snack in between high school classes.

Our stations include art which develop fine motor skills, PE activities that focus on gross motor skills, language, writing, math, and science.

Along with the above we have seasonal parties and go on various field trips.
