About the director

My name is Jenny Harrington, and I am the director of the Little Eagles Preschool program. I am really excited to welcome you and your child into our classroom next year. In order to introduce myself, I wanted to provide a little background. I graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Family and Consumer Science education, and then continued my education at Concordia University where I received Masters degrees in Curriculum and Instruction and School Administration. I have been teaching since Fall 2005 and have been part of District 117 since 2007.

I am thrilled to be part of the Little Eagle family. Interestingly enough, I found my passion for teaching in a similar setting when I was in high school. I attended McHenry High School where I took a variety of electives including Foods, Living on Your Own, and Preschool. It was in that preschool class where I decided to become a teacher. I loved every second of my time there and I made the choice to make Child Development my main focus in college and expanded it to Family and Consumer Science Education. I loved working at a day care/preschool all throughout college and I still keep in touch with many families from that school. I hope to share and spread my passion with the high school students I teach by helping them create well thought-out lessons that focus on learning and enjoyment. Together we will help your child grow and be ready to thrive in kindergarten.  We will work hard to foster a strong educational environment that is safe and student-centered.
