High School Choirs

     Our high school students are divided among three competitive ensembles: Men's Choir, Bel Canto, and Chorale. All students are welcome to take advantage of TMEA region auditions, solo and ensemble competition, talent show, and other opportunities to grow in their musicianship. We also offer a specialty show choir, SoundCheck, that focuses on Broadway and Pop music.

     As the name implies, Men's Choir is an all-male ensemble. Its counterpart is Bel Canto, our performing ensemble for women. These two ensembles focus on vocal production, balance, and blend using a lot of exciting choral literature spanning centuries of tradition. 

     Chorale will offer a more advanced curriculum for maturing voices in a mixed-choir format. Concert Choir is the beginning level ensemble at the high school focusing on music reading skills and vocal development. There will be three major concerts and repertoire will be selected to give the students a wide array of vocal experiences. They will receive training in classical vocal production as well as modern pop techniques, which will be designed to foster appreciation for a broad spectrum of vocal music.

     Our hope is that each student will gain the skills necessary to become a "musically literate, vocal musician, prepared to sing for life."
