Daniel Farris (Director of China Spring Choirs) is proud to be a CS Cougar for over a decade now. He received a Bachelor of Music Education degree with a major in piano from Baylor University. He went immediately into graduate school on a full tuition scholarship and earned both a Master of Divinity from Truett Theological Seminary and a Master of Music in conducting from Baylor. While in college he was named the "Outstanding Music Educator" in 2004 and the "Outstanding Graduate in Church Music" in 2007. Upon completion of his degrees he taught in Waco ISD and was hired to direct Baylor SHOWTIME! for three years. While performing with Baylor SHOWTIME!, he has performed in New York, Lincoln Center, Washington D.C., Tennessee, Hawaii, on cruise lines, and in Europe. His strengths lie in traditional choral music and the music of Broadway. Mr. Farris has been musical director and/or pianist for a number of musicals: Grease, Bye Bye Birdie, High School Musical, 42nd Street, Pippin, Alice in Wonderland, and others. Mr. Farris has also been a Minister of Music in the Waco area for two decades. He is currently serving at Seventh and James Baptist Church. Mr. Farris is married to a lovely and talented graphic designer, Rachel, and they have a daughter named Ava and a son named Sefton.
Caleb Brigman (Assistant Director of China Spring Choirs) has been working at China Spring the 23-24 school year. He received a Bachelors degree in Choral Music Education in 2022 from Appalachian State University located in Boone, North Carolina.
Mr. Brigman has been a performer since he was in middle school, and focused on choir and musical theater all the way through high school. He attended Gray's Creek High School in his home town of Hope Mills, North Carolina. There he was able to participate in quite a few musicals. Some of those performances included "Little Women", "Once Upon a Mattress", "Fiddler on the Roof" as Tevye, and "Sweeney Todd" as Sweeney. He also performed in the NCMEA Honors Choir his junior year of high school.
While attending App State, Mr. Brigman started performing as a Vocal Scholar at St. Mary of the Hills Episcopal Church. His love for performing sacred music continues to this day, and he now performs as a Staff Singer at St. Albans Episcopal Church in Waco.
Mr. Brigman is married to an attorney, (Also Rachel) and they have three dogs at home. Artie, Molly, and Pebbles.
