Earn College Credit with Cisco NetAcad Classes:
NC Community College:
Computer Engineering Technology 1&2 and Network Engineering Technology 1&2 are included in the NC High School to Community College Articulation Agreement. A student can earn college credit at any NC Community College for any of our Cisco Networking Academy courses (CET 1&2, NET 1&2). To receive articulated credit, students must enroll at the community college within two years of their high school graduation date and meet the following criteria:
Final grade of B or higher in the course and
A score of 93 or higher on the standardized CTE post assessment
For more information, please visit the NC High School to Community College Articulation Agreement.
Four-year College and Universities:
Some colleges and universities will offer college credit for completing a Cisco Academy course. There is no written agreement between high schools and four-year colleges and universities; each college/university determines if college credit is awarded for this course. If you would like to determine if you can receive college credit for this course, please contact individual colleges and universities (typically the computer science department or the Cisco Academy if the college has the program) to determine if you can qualify for college credit through this course; expect that you will need to make a final grade of 90 or higher on the course and exam. See Ms. Walker if you need assistance. Also, if you find out any information about college credit for these courses at any college or university, please share the information with Ms. Walker so she can share with the rest of her students.
Earn College Credit with Career and College Promise:
Build upon the skills you have learned in our Cisco or other CTE courses in a college environment via Career and College Promise. You will earn college and high school credit at the same time. NET courses are available online, so there is no need to leave CHHS to take advantage of this opportunity. There are also classes related to PC support and electrical engineering. Please see Ms. Walker for more information, or visit Durham Tech's Career and College Promise for an introduction to the program.
Earn College Credit with American Council on Education (ACE) transcript:
The American Council on Education (ACE) has reviewed and recommended courses and certifications for college credit. Students can request an ACE transcript and check colleges currently accepting ACE transcripts. Microsoft Academy is currently working with ACE to expand College and University partnerships.
