1.What are some of the club activities?
We have four activities that must be performed in order for our campus to earn the No Place for Hate distinction. First we must have the students sign the Resolution of Respect. Then we will create a few lessons and campus wide activities.
2.What are 3 benefits of joining the club?
Students who participate in the club get a great feel of our campus climate when it comes to issues on race and bullying. They become a part of the process that helps educate and change the cultural mind set of their classmates for the better. Looks good on their college resumes.
3.What are 3 facts about the club?
The No Place for Hate program is a part of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). It has been serving the Southwest region of Texas for about 15 years. Only 20 campuses in Cy-Fair ISD earned the distinction last school year.
4.Are there any dues or fees?
There are no dues or fees.
5. Does the club offer any volunteer opportunities that can go toward services hours for college application(examples)?
Most of our activities have to be done on campus, but the prep work for the projects are done after school. Students can earn hours for participating in the preparation for the activities and the participation of the any after school programs that we might produce.
Our First Meeting will be on Tuesday, October 1st in room T4
