The boys and girls high school cross country teams swept the team titles at the home meet (10 teams) with a great showing. It was hot and hilly but the teams showed some grit in making it happen. While there were some great times run-overall the heat and hills took a toll on the times, but places are what matter in cross country and that's what we did well.

Other Items of Note:
-Spectators can run as much as they want point to point cheering, but no one can run "alongside" a competitor or "assist them" by helping carrying an athlete or lifting an athlete who has fallen. Once an athlete receives assistance in that manner they are disqualified.
-It is now permitted for runners to receive water during a race. However, it's strongly encouraged that only coach's or official team personnel pass the water. This can eliminate the risk that someone random passes an athlete something other than water. The coaching staff is prepared for these scenarios on hot days and check with them before attempting to do this.
Expectations
-If an athlete is going to miss a practice or meet just communicate that to coaches in advance
-Have a good attitude about practice, be a good teammate, and represent CD athletics in a positive way!
Equipment
-Training shoes for practice
-Racing shoes (spikes or racing flats) for meets
