iDiscoveries: Teaching and Learning with the iPad
2 UW credits or 2 CCSD/PTSB credits Instructors: Cathy McGeowan + various Tech Facilitators will join us each week.This course will have participants discover the power of using the iPad to improve instruction. As we look at different pedagogical strategies to effectively integrate the iPad into the classroom, we will consider the SAMR model, while we discuss the importance of choosing the appropriate technology. Armed with a new focus each week, participants will create and present a lesson that links to their content standards, as well as share their personal reflections of the lesson with their classmates. Participants will leave the class discovering a personal tech integration toolbox that recognizes how to select digital tools that are appropriate for the task and that can transform learning to higher levels. (All levels are welcome.)

Megan, Maggie and Cathy attended the conference in November and want to share innovations in learning with you! Innovative topics include STEM, Computer Science, Digital skills, Open Education Resources and more! WDE is committed to providing opportunities for educators to share and explore innovative teaching and learning practices in our Wyoming classrooms.
Additionally, The Wyoming Innovations in Learning Conference will be in Gillette this fall! This would be a great opportunity to get something to take back to your classroom, as well as prepare a topic for presentation at this fall’s conference.

*Speed-geeking is a great way to quickly view a number of presentations and demos in a short while. At our 12th TechnoGanza, presenters will pick one of their favorite techie tools* and provide a short, focused, hands-on presentation.
*NO peeking! Sorry, you will not know the tools that will be presented until you arrive! However, be assured, we are scheming up all kinds of great ideas that will represent a variety of grades and subject matter and of course, are engaging! Each session explores tools never presented at a previous TechnoGanza.
Join us for our initial professional development with micro-badging. Badges support and honor creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking, and also spark curiosity in continued professional development.
Docs Launch! Instructor: Amber Parsons
Learn how Google Docs provides users with the ability to create, edit, and collaborate with others live on the web. Write reports, create joint project proposals, keep track of meeting notes, and more. Additionally, the Google Docs badge will require the creation of an artifact demonstrating competency and implementation of the Docs app.
Drawings Launch! Instructor: Darcy Gillaspy
Learn about Google Drawings basic digital design functions such as editing and cropping images. Create visuals on the ultimate blank canvas. You will learn about the most commonly used tools and uses for Google Drawings. Additionally, the Google Drawings badge will require the creation of an artifact demonstrating competency and implementation of the Drawings app.
Sheets Launch! Instructor: Stacey Dickson
Learn how Google Sheets allows you to organize, edit, and analyze different types of information using spreadsheets. Additionally, the Google Sheets badge will require the creation of an artifact demonstrating competency and implementation of the Sheets app.

Instructor(s): Cathy McGeowanG Suite for Education is a free suite of tools that enables users to create, edit, share, and collaborate, anytime, anywhere. This online course will introduce you to the G Suite for Education apps with a focus on helping teachers and students share and learn together in innovative ways.
This class will provide a classroom focus for GSE. Apps to be covered include:Google mail, Drive (Docs and Sheets), Google Classroom, forms for surveys, and forms for assessment purposes; as well as add-ons that will facilitate the classroom teacher.
This course will have a mandatory first meeting TUESDAY, September 18 from 4:15-6:00 and then will be entirely online with weekly requirements/deadlines throughout. You will work at your own pace, but classwork must be completed by each week’s due date.

Techie Thursday Action Labs - FALL
CCSD Technology is happy to offer another round of Techie Thursdays! This fall, Techie Thursdays will offer six (!) action labs that emphasize technology as a classroom tool while meeting the ISTE standards. Take 1 or 2 action labs, or take 5 Techie Thursdays that can be rolled over for PTSB or UW credit at the end of the semester! This fall, join us for a Techie Thursday!

The Innovator’s Mindset: The “Unbook” Study
1 UW credits or 1 CCSD/PTSB credits Instructors: Cathy McGeowanThis online course will have participants discover ways to bring innovation to the classroom through reading and reflection of George Couros’ The Innovator’s Mindset while modeling the power of reflection on the learning process. We will look at different pedagogical practices that cultivate an innovator’s mindset and empower educators to wonder, explore, and become forward thinking leaders. Participants upon completion of reading the required text, will create and share a digital artifact that reflects their ideas on how they can personally begin to create a culture of innovation.
