Welcome to the WRS Orchestra Website!

The orchestra program at Walter R. Sundling Junior High School offers students an opportunity for personal growth and enrichment through the study of orchestral music literature, string performance, and music techniques. The curriculum will emphasize practice of proper performance technique and the exploration of musical expression through performance, composition, and improvisation.

Concert Orchestra is offered as a seventh grade enrichment class to all students who have successfully completed Intermediate Orchestra. The Concert Orchestra rehearses every day throughout the school year during Period 8.

Symphonic Orchestra is offered as an eighth grade enrichment class to all students who have successfully completed Concert Orchestra.

The Symphonic Orchestra rehearses every day throughout the school year during Period 9.

All students are also required to attend one small group lesson per week. Lesson groups meet one class period a week on a rotational schedule. Both groups perform at various school events throughout the year.
