Angela studies the role of spatio-temporal environmental heterogeneity on biological invasions and species coexistence, and how species characteristics affect their interactions and outcomes of invasion or restoration. See our work on spatial soil heterogeneity and coexistence (Brandt et al. 2013, Brandt et al. 2014, Burns and Brandt 2014, del Pino et al. 2015, Brandt et al. 2015, Burns et al. 2017). Angela is now working as a postdoctoral fellow with Dr. Bill Lee in New Zealand at Landcare Research.
Grant is studying the microbiome and disease resistance in Rhododendron (Liu and Burns 2018, Liu 2018, Liu et al. 2021, Liu 2023).
Colin studies how species interactions such as herbivory and soil biota mediate biological invasions (Cope 2018, Cope and Burns 2019, Cope et al. 2020).
Jennifer is studying the correlates of global invasiveness in the Roses, using detailed physiological studies and phylogenetic comparative methods (Murphy et al. 2016, Murphy 2019).
Andy is studies temperate tree restoration (Lance et al. 2019, 2020a, b).
