CATV Distribution
Campus Televideo (CTV) manages the CATV distribution network at Case on behalf of Student Affairs. The typical demark for their services is the output of the distribution amplifier in each Telecommunications Room (TR). The patch field is considered to be part of the horizontal cabling, supplied by a construction project. When CATV service needs to be extended to a new TR, ITS or Planning Design and Construction (PDC) will contact Student Affairs for Campus Televideo to engineer the service. Roles:
Student Affairs provides the project with cost information for the CATV equipment and services.
The project's IT designer (not ITS) coordinates design and specifications.
Campus Televideo engineers and provides construction specifications for equipment (provided by CTV) and other cabling/equipment to be provided and installed by the project.
CTV provides a quote for CTV installation services and equipment.
PDC includes these specifications in the construction documentation for construction as a part of the project.
CTV inspects the distribution cable installation, installs and tunes their amplifiers, splitters, taps, etc and accepts the installation for Case.
The project pays any one-time costs, e.g. CTV
