About: Rebekah Johnson is the Department Chair for the Exercise and Sport Science Department at Carthage College. She also mentors and advises students who are studying to be physical education and health teachers. Rebekah began her education at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where she obtained her Bachelor’s of Science in Education. With licenses to teach Physical Education, Health Education, and Adaptive Physical Education, Rebekah taught in the K-12 setting for seven years in Wisconsin. During that time, she returned to UW-Whitewater to pursue her Master’s in Professional Development with an emphasis on Curriculum and Instruction. Rebekah taught undergraduate courses for UW-Whitewater for two years in the Health, Physical Education, and Recreation Department before beginning her career at Carthage College in 2016. Rebekah completed the training through Pearson Education to become an edTPA scorer in the area of physical education in 2016.

About: Nicholas Brummitt is a graduate from Carthage College in 2018. He is originally from Niles, Illinois. He began working on edTPA preparation during his time as Department Assistant to the Exercise and Sports Science Department. Since then, Nicholas and Rebekah have presented at state and national levels sharing resources for the physical education edTPA. Nicholas is currently a Physical Education teacher at Hynes Elementary, District 67, where he teaches kindergarten through fourth grade. He also likes to spend his free time coaching and participating in hockey.

Laura de Rosales is originally from Rockford, Illinois. She graduated with a major in PE Sport and Fitness as well as minors in both Secondary Education and Health. She was part of the Women's Volleyball team at Carthage. She was the assistant to the Exercise and Sports Science Department.

David Fish is originally from Downers Grove, IL. He graduated with a major in PE Sport and Fitness and minors in both Secondary Education and Health. He was on the Carthage Cross Country as well as the Track and Field team and held a position as President of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. David has worked as the assistant to the Exercise and Sports Department and also held a position in the Tarble Athletic and Recreational Center (TARC) as a Student Lead for Intramurals.

Ashley Johnson graduated with a major in PE Sport and Fitness and a minor in both Secondary Education and Health. She assisted the Carthage College strength and conditioning coach in training the athletic teams. Ashley also was an SI leader for Physiology of Exercise. Ashley was President of the Carthage Weightlifting Club that taught its members the correct technique and programming for Olympic Lifting.
