Cambridge High School students who have completed 200 hours of documented volunteer service by the end of the 3rd Quarter of their senior year will be awarded a Silver Cord to wear for recognition at their graduation ceremony. Starting the day after graduation the summer before their freshmen year students can start accumulating hours towards earning a Silver Cord.
The goal of this program is not only to acknowledge students, but also to encourage the development of their own leadership and citizenship skills.
All students need to submit a silver cord volunteer form to the CHS main office in order to have their hours documented. It is the student's responsibility to hand in the completed form by the end of the Quarter that the volunteer service was completed. This ensures that the volunteer hours will be able to be kept up to date as much as possible. A Silver Cord Volunteer hours verification sheet is attached that can be printed out along with a brochure that explains the program in more detail. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
