REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION
A student must complete for graduation, twenty-five credits. One credit of class work is the successful completion of a course which meets five (5) times per week, for the entire school year.
The breakdown of required credit is as follows:
English - 4 credits:
English 9 1.0 credit
English 10. 1.0 credit
English 11. 1.0 credit
English electives. 1.0 credit
Science - 3 credits:
Physical Science 1.0 credit
Biology 1.0 credit
Science electives 1.0 credit
Math - 3 credits:
Algebra 1 1.0 credit
Geometry 1.0 credit
Math electives 1.0 credit
Social Studies - 3 credits:
World History 1.0 credit
U.S. History 1.0 credit
Government/Economics 0.5 credit
Social Studies elective 0.5 credit
Physical Education - 1.5 credits:
PE elective 0.5 credit (Freshmen are required to take a PE class)
PE electives 1.0 credits
(Note: Each of the elective courses are worth 0.5 credit so a student would take 2 classes to meet the 1 credit requirement but you are able to take the same course twice)
(CAP also offers Lifeguarding and Water Safety Instructor training, which are worth 0.5 credit each)
Health - 0.5 credit
Careers 0.5 credit
Personal Finance - 0.5 credit
CTE - 1.0 credit
Electives - 8.0 credits to be taken in any area of your choice.
All students are required to carry at least 7.0 credits per year.
Additional requirements:
√ CPR Certification
√ Senior Portfolio
√ Senior Exit Interview (Will be scheduled for seniors in May or June)
√ Pass Civics Exam
