The SCHS Beta club has been successfully competing at district, state and national conventions for over 40 years.
Participating in conventions and/or leadership summits is a great way to meet other Betas, showcase your academic, artistic and leadership abilities, and build a strong college application and scholarship resume.
This summit gives students the opportunity to hear and learn from Nationally recognized motivational speakers while they compete in team-building leadership challenges. Underclassmen are given first priority to attend this trip.

SCHS Registration Deadline: Thursday, September 23rd
Cost: $80 dollars which includes price of shared hotel suite (4-6 students) with $20 discount for executive committee members and freshmen. Students need additional money for meals. Scholarships are available based on financial need. Discounts are also available based on fundraiser participation.

Gives students the opportunity to meet and compete with other students from Northwestern NC. Any member in grades 10-12 and freshman interested in competing can attend. Use this link to request a spot.

Cost: FREE to 10th-12th grade members who have completed FR requirement and competing freshmen.
This convention gives students the opportunity to meet and compete with other students from across NC. Only competing students or other active members can attend. Use this link to request a spot.
Next Convention: February 6-7, 2020 (Koury Center in Greensboro)
SCHS Registration Deadline: Tuesday, December 2nd
Cost: $80 dollars which includes price of shared hotel room (quadruple occupancy). Students need additional money for meals. Scholarships are available for students who have placed at previous district or state convention or who have financial need. Additional discounts are also available for students who sold 4+ coupon books.
Tentative Competitor List Students can compete at state, even if they did not compete at district. However, students who place at district are generally given priority for state-level competitions.
This trip typically lasts 3-5 days in late June. Students who qualified to compete at the NC Convention or Leadership Summit have first priority to attend, but other active members are often used to complete our group.

Cost: about $400-600 dollars (depending on location) which includes price of shared hotel room, transportation and group attractions. Students need additional money for meals.
