Tracy Boyum

My name is Tracy Boyum. I was a kindergarten teacher in Byron for 32 years, and now I have transitioned to be the Primary School Reading Specialist. I grew up and graduated from Wanamingo High School. I then graduated from Luther College and earned my B.S. in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood License. I also went to graduate school through St. Mary's University to get my Reading Teachers License. I live outside of Wanamingo with my husband, Steve, who is a crop farmer. We also raise show pigs (called Boyum Genetics). We have two daughters: Kristin is an RN, married to Bill, and mother of our grandson Will, and Kari is an wedding event planner. I also have two aunts that have retired from teaching in the Byron School District--Mrs. Syverson (7th Grade Math) and Mrs. Gehrking (High School English). Byron School District has been a family place for us! Now you will be a part of the Byron School District family too! I look forward to meeting all of you and am excited to continue to teach and learn with the students in my classroom!!
