IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Dear Students and Parents.

Here, in brief is what is happening in our French class:

• we are working on our first core theme- Communication and media
• our current topic is television
• we are also practicing for the oral interview to take place between March 12 and 16th (see google IB calendar)
• I want to students to know and undertand the big picture in regards to the oral in order to be as prepared as possible.
• Next we will talk about publicity/advertising
• We are also learning useful vocabulary related to presenting a photo during the March interview. A quiz will follow (part by part)
• Students learned how to use the present participle verb tense. (En écrivant, j'espère que vous allez comprendre.- By writing, I hope that you will understand- what is happening in class)
• Students have been reading on their own for homework eiher le Petit Prince (SL) or La petite fille de M. Linh (HL) They are to read a minimum of one page every night.

NB: Although these documents are from last year's class, there are some that are still very pertinent to your studies and preparation for the IB exams in 2018. For example, under Resouces for the year, you will find an English document explaining the different assessments as well as the rubrics for grading.

2. Other documents may be handy to look at some of the work done in 2016-17 that we will not have time to do. Although we only cover the 3 core themes (each with 2 sub-topics) and 2 options, you will see a variety of themes on the exams (such as Paper one and two to take place in May over 2 days.)

Remember, N'ayez pas peur! Have no fear. Set your priorities and get accomplished something each and every day. Rome was not built in one day.

Extra help- I realize how busy you all are! I am ready to meet with you outside of class. Please make an appointment to see me. Then, I will mark it on my calendar. Also, I am available period 8 on Thursdays from 1:30 until 3 pm in the WL office- room 213.
