Donna Young, K teacher (and web designer)
I am a Colorado native, having grown up in Louisville. I have been teaching at Creekside since 2005 - two years as a literacy tutor/teacher and kindergarten since 2007. Both of my extraordinary children attended Creekside K-5th! My daughter, Alex, is a play therapist who loves supporting neurodiverse and twice exceptional children and their families. My son, Noah, is a musician, a cantorial soloist, and Amazon driver. My wonderful husband, David, runs his own IT business, Free Range Geeks, here in Boulder. My favorite things about Creekside are the diversity of our students and families, the family-feel of the school, and my wonderful colleagues. I have a BA in psychology, an elementary K-6 teaching license, a Master's in Literacy and Curriculum Development K-12, and a Master's in Multicultural Education K-12 - all from CU Boulder. I love teaching kindergarten because I get to explore, learn, and laugh every day with my school and class family. For fun, I love to read, hike in the mountains, travel, play board games, create projects with all kinds of art materials, spend time with my family, drink tea, and eat potato chips!
Jeri Dowe, paraeducator extraordinaire
Jeri is a Colorado native and has two amazing children who attended Creekside K-5th, James and John. Jeri even attended Creekside for kindergarten and first grade when it was Martin Park Elementary! For fun, Jeri likes to drink coffee, read books, hike, be in the mountains, and play games with her sisters and mother.
Rory Smith, Teacher Candidate (student teacher) phenomenon
I was born and raised in Saint Louis, Missouri. After graduating from high school, I came to CU Boulder to pursue my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. It is my fourth and final year of college, and I will be student teaching under Donna Young for the duration of this school year, and I am incredibly excited! I spent time working in one of the second-grade classrooms last year here at Creekside. I love to spend time on Pearl Street, shopping or getting dinner with friends. I also have a cat named Winnie, whom I love to snuggle with!
