Kasia Antosz-Solawa is the orchestra director at Angevine Middle School and elementary orchestra specialist across the Lafayette area. Prior to her time at Angevine, Mrs. Solawa was the Districtwide Program Specialist for Orchestra at Westminster Public Schools teaching at Ranum Middle School, Colorado STEM Academy, Hodgkins Leadership Academy and Assistant Director of Orchestras and Mariachi at Westminster High School. Earning her B.M. in Violin Performance with Honors at University of Illinois at Chicago, she went on to complete her M.S. in Music Education from Indiana University.
Mrs. Solawa is very involved in the greater Denver music community as a private string teacher, professional gig musician, and frequent concert-goer. She maintains an active private violin studio with students holding leadership roles in their respective orchestras.
Prior to her move to Colorado, Mrs. Solawa has held teaching positions across the Midwest. In Indiana, she previously taught beginning orchestra at Avon Intermediate School West, led string classes at Fairview Violin Project and worked as an Associate Instructor for Indiana University. Mrs. Solawa taught at Sistema Ravinia as a String Teaching Artist in Illinois. As a musician, she has performed with Paderewski Symphony Orchestra, Broomfield Symphony, Owensboro Symphony and Wici Song and Dance, playing in venues and festivals across the US, Australia, Guadeloupe, and Poland. Mrs. Solawa has held private teaching studios in Colorado, Illinois and Indiana.
When not teaching, she enjoys spending time in the mountains with her husband, daughter, and dog.
