Fundamentals of 2012 International Residential Code (IRC)
Wednesday, April 23, 2014
8:00 am - 3:45 pm
Vermont Technical College - 'Old Schoolhouse'
Randolph, VT
Single family homes are a significant segment of all construction in Vermont. Only a few cities and towns regulate their construction, and they use the International Residential Code (IRC). This comprehensive codebook is relatively easy to understand. It is useful for homebuilders even when code is not in effect or enforced.
Steve Van Note of the International Code Council will explain the fundamentals of the IRC for Vermont's professional community. Builders, inspectors, designers, engineers, developers, and government officials should all find this event useful in their work.
All participants in the workshop will receive complimentary membership in BSA-VT.
This course earns 6 AIA-HSW CEUs.
OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this seminar, participants will be better able to:
1. Explain the intent behind the fundamental provisions of the 2012 IRC.
2. Locate general topics and applicable tables in the 2012 IRC.
3. Define terms essential for correct code interpretation.
4. Identify the code that relates to the design, construction or inspection of residential buildings.
