Our Choirs

Chamber Choir:  An auditioned, mixed choir of men and women typically no larger than 35-40 people.  This choir performs on a very high level, and participants are expected to make time to practice outside of class.  People who are selected for Chamber Choir are expected to stay in the group until they graduate unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Cantique: This is our top women's ensemble.  You must complete an audition to be in this group.  We perform difficult women's pieces typically in 3 or 4 parts but sometimes ranging up to 8 parts.

Tenor-Bass Choir:  This is our beginning men's ensemble.  You don't have to audition to be in this group, just sign up!  We will cover all the basics of singing, reading music, and aural training.  We also deal a bit with the male voice change and how to navigate all the weird sounds you may be experiencing as a vocalist.  This choir is divided iinto tenors, baritones, and basses.

Treble Choir: This is our beginning women's ensemble.  You don't have to audition to be in this group, just sign up!  We will cover all the basics of singing, reading music, and aural training.  If you have little or no experience in singing, or even if you think you have a terrible voice, this group is designed to get you on the right track as a vocalist!  This group is divided into two voice parts, sopranos and altos.

Azules: This is our pop/jazz extra-curricular choir.  We meet on Thursdays at lunch.  To be in this group, you need to be in 10th-12th grade and already enrolled in a curricular choir (a choir class).  If you love the show Glee or really like singing newer songs, this is the group for you!

Chanson:  This extra-curricular group was created for people who really want to dig in to some more difficult repertoire in a small group setting.  We perform a lot of historical music from the Renaissance, Baroque, and Classical period.  If you want to be in a choir in which only 1 to 3 people sing each part, this is the choir for you!  We meet on Tuesday mornings during zero period (7:30 am).  Bring your coffee!  You must be in the 10th-12th grade and already enrolled in a choir class to audition.
