CLASSES
Chamber Choir: An auditioned, mixed choir of men and women typically no larger than 35-40 people. This choir performs on a very high level, and participants are expected to make time to practice outside of class. This group travels with the Cantique Choir on choir tour and attends other Advanced Mixed Ensemble events such as AA Choir Festival. Singers are expected to stay in this choir for the full school year.
Cantique: This is our auditioned women's ensemble. They perform difficult soprano-alto choral pieces, typically with three or four voice parts, but sometimes ranging up to six parts. This group travels with the Chamber Choir on choir tour and attends other Advanced Women's Ensemble events. Singers are expected to stay in this choir for the full school year.
Tenor-Bass Choir: This is our non-auditioned men's ensemble. You don't have to audition to be in this group, just sign up! We will cover all the basics of singing and reading music. We spend time working on vocal range and technique as well. This choir is divided into tenors, baritones, and basses.
Treble Choir: This is our non-auditioned women's ensemble. You don't have to audition to be in this group, just sign up! We will cover all the basics of singing and reading music. This group sings in two or three voice parts for sopranos and altos.
CLUBS!
Azules: This is our pop/jazz extra-curricular choir. Anyone can join this extra-curricular choir. We mostly sing jazz, but sometimes we throw in a pop tune as well! Right now, we meet for rehearsals on Thursdays at lunch. This choir sings one piece for every concert and performs at District Music Festival.
Chanson: This extra-curricular group was created for people who really want to explore more difficult vocal repertoire in a small group setting. We perform historical music from the Renaissance, Baroque, and Classical periods. This choir currently meets on Tuesdays at lunch. They sing one piece for every concert and perform at District Music Festival.
