Reading

In reading, we use the Into Reading curriculum.  As fourth graders, we will read several great fiction stories.  We will also read nonfiction texts, and learn how to gather information from this type of text.  We will work hard to use examples from the text to help us explain our thinking.

Each student will need to read 30 min a night.  I am a strong believer that part of how students learn to read is by reading. This time every evening is important. I would encourage you to spend this time reading with your child. Help them with words they don't know, and ask them about what they read.
